Faith-Based Scouting

 Family Scout Troop TX5160

Harmony Baptist Church is passionate about families because Christ is passionate about families. Chartering and partnering with scouting programs that care about families and that nourish God’s design of the family is one way we can fulfill that passion.

Harmony’s Family Troop TX5160 is designed as an opportunity for the entire family to come together at the same place and time. We offer WeeScouts for children birth to 4 years old, American Heritage Girls and Trail Life USA for children and youth 5-18, and the Guidon component of Trail Life USA could be available for coed members age 18-25.
TROOP TX5160 is very active. In addition to meeting on Monday’s at 7PM we are involved in lots of community service projects, camping, and many other events. Families are encouraged to use AHG and TLUSA as a way to “put more arrows in their quiver” to help raise their children in the image of Christ. We believe that the family and your church should be first, and at no point, do we want families to become so overwhelmed with Scouting that it interferes with their church or home life. Because we are a family-focused troop, drop-offs are not allowed except in special, temporary cases and we ask that a parent or guardian is involved in some way with TX5160.
American Heritage Girls TX5160 chartered in December of 2013. We currently have an active Pathfinder, Tender-heart, Explorer, Pioneer, and Patriot Unit with over 25 girls registered. Our girls and leaders strive to grow in Christ’s image, fulfilling the AHG creed and oath. AHG is not just about camping, we empower girls to love God, cherish their families, honor the USA, and serve in their community all while having a blast! The girls get to spend time together while earning badges, learning to lead with integrity, and feel the joy of serving others.
Trail Life USA Troop TX-5160 was chartered on April 24, 2014. Currently we have almost 20 boys ages 5-14 and 6 Godly men mentoring and teaching our young men what it means to “WALK WORTHY”. Our mission is simple and clear: to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure.
